"I love you more"

Have you ever played the game with your kids "I love you more"? Well, my kids and I are always doing that game, and I really enjoy "arguing" with them about which of us loves the other more. TJ is funny about it, because he will get right in my face "nose to nose" and tell me "no way, I love you more!" Sandi is our famous one who will leave people speechless. She will let you go on and on for a bit, "I love you more", "Impossible, I love you more", "No way, I love you more than that". On and on, until she looks you in the eyes and says "Well, I love you as Jesus loves kids!" I think she trumps, don't you?

The "trimee"

So, this morning before school, Millene asks me if I am going to buy the cool Christmas trees with the big globe lights on them. (You know, the ones that blink along to music?) We saw some at Lowes last month, and the girls had so much fun pushing the button to make them go over and over again. Well, I told her that I probably wouldn't do it this year, but I want them eventually. She then got all excited and said, "Yeah, cause then we could bury the "trimee" in the snow". I looked at her with a very confused expression on my face and asked her "the trimee"? "yes, the trimee, you know, the button you push to make it go"? Well, it took me just a second to realize that she was talking about the button labeled "Try Me" that the kids kept pushing when we were at the store. I was laughing too hard to tell her that we wouldn't have that button if we brought it home.

9 year old missionary

Tonight my 9 year old daughter Jurnee went to the baptism of her friend Cherokee. This is the 2nd friend of Jurnee's who has gotten baptized after Jurnee started to invite her to Activity Days and Church. Her other friend Alanis also started going to Activity Days by Jurnee's invite, and then continued coming to church with another family in our ward. Alanis is still going to church and her sister is starting to go as well. What a good example Jurnee has been to her friends, and most especially me. She wasn't ever worried about her friends rejecting her because she invited them to church activities. She just invited them because she had fun, so why shouldn't she share that with her friends? I have a lot to learn from my little girl!
